It is a fact that a baby can be sensitized in utero to different allergens.
IgE antibody formation occurs by the 11th week of gestation. A diet should
be started by the tenth week of pregnancy if deemed necessary (Pre and
Postnatal Allergy Precautions, Allergy Foundation of Canada).
