Please, I hear the beginning of an argument....
I think that it is important to remember that we all see different mothers
who come to us with different baggage...
We each use different "tools" to assist out mother's with. One is not
"better" or " worce" than another.. they are different.. the mother's are
different.
This is one of the very important ways in which our profession differes from
other and why see one do one teach ones does not work for lactation
training...
I had the a wonderful experience many years ago to travel back and forth
to a colleagues home in another state.. and she likewise came to mine. we
shared many a consultation this way and spent many hours discussing why we
did or did not do one thing or another .... part of the bottom line was the
mother's were different. - thier " culture" was different. what worked well
for one of her mother's in idential rpesentation would be unenable for one of
mine....
So please... there are proably all of the variation that are being
presented for 3-4 month decreasee, including only a perceived decreased. they
are each valid for that mother and the treatments we each choose are valid
for each mother. we can listen to each other and enlarge our bags of
tricks....
