The recent thread on why we chose to bf ought to be telling us something:
a minority of us did so for the baby's health. Of those few that did, most
wanted the baby to avoid *their* specific health problems. We nursed
either because it never occurred to us not to, or for selfish reasons, or
because we liked the mothering style that seemed to go with it.

I need to restructure my prenatal class. Maybe have Linda Smith's Fact
Pack statements scattered around the room for people to ask questions about
if they want, but focus on how wonderful the *experience* is. Cute stories
and anecdotes from my own children and those of friends, that weave a
cultural picture they'll want to be part of. Hey, if *we* didn't choose bf
for health reasons, who would??
