WABA Global Forum on Breastfeeding

The Breastfeeding Global Forum on Bangkok, Thailand, startet at 2 december,
is running very well, with participants from 86 countries.

This WABA (World Alliance for Breatffeding Action) promotion, sponsored by
UNICEF, is providing an great opportunity for exchange of experiences,
knowledge, skills and information on breastfeeding, young child nutrition,
children's health, women's rights and children's rights.

People from all the world are also partipating trough the Forum's Internet
site, available in: http://www.elogica.com.br/waba. Every day, we can find
documents and photos about what is happening there. Particulary beautiful is
a Thai children's paintings exposition.

There is also a good participation through the guestbook, where we can write
and read messages to the Forum, from the five continents.

This Forum attempts to place these concerns within their social, economic
andethical context as well. It is a rallying point to move beyond the
Innocenti Declaration goals and to widen the issue of young child nutrition
to its ethical and practical dimensions which include the rights of children
and women. The slogan is: "Children's health, children's right - Action for
the 21st Century".
