Nancy, thanks for keeping us up-to-date with this mom and babe. A couple
of questions from a hick: by GD do you mean Graves' disease? By PPD do
you mean pastpartum depression? Graves' d. is a form of hyperthyroidism,
not hypo, but when my daughter had severe Graves', she presented with
some signs & symptoms more typical for hypo, so I dunno. I'd like to hear
from the physicians on this.... As far as the pp depression (if that
indeed is PPD), one of the longstanding signs of a thyroid problem in my
daughter was mood swings - she thought it was related to BC pills, PMS,
whatever (it was **years** before she was diagnosed, and now
she is stuck with probably-irreversible Graves' ophthalmopathy. sigh.)
Point I'm trying to make here is that IF it really is a thyroid problem,
there could be mood problems because of the thyroid, not depression
causing thyroid problems. Judy Knopf, intrigued as usual with thyroid and
