The La Leche League succeeded by reconstructing the neighbourly
networks which medicine had tried to discredit.  League members began
to trust and rely on one another.  Their confidence in their intuitive
connection with their children grew; and for both of these reasons,
they found it less necessary to rely on doctors, except in
emergencies.
