Hi, all
The altar seems to be piling high with carcasses from so many sacrifices
theses days....
I just got a call from a mom with a 2 1/2 week old baby. Mom was given
little or no help in the hospital with bf, and at day 3 came down with a
miserable case of mastitis. Said her breasts were bleeding, among other
things. So, she was prescribed a 10 day course of antibiotics and told to
stop bf. They gave her no info on what to do in the meantime and I gather
she went through major discomfort for a few days. She's finished the round
of antibiotics and still wants to bf and discovered she has some "white
stuff" coming out of her breasts and wanted to know if it was okay to try to
nurse "anyway." The doc suggested she call me (today, as opposed to 2 weeks
ago....).
Geez.
