I think clonazepam would be as good an antianxiety medication for
breastfeeding mothers as any other, if medication is definitely
required. I am not sure that the half life is so short, however. I
seem to remember it being fairly long. As with all benzodiazepines,
caution needs to be taken if the baby is fairly young, say under a
month, as the half life of this family of drugs is often extended in
neonates. However, if the baby is a little older, the half life is
said to be shorter than in adults.
Clonazepam is used in children for seizures, and even in tiny babies
in huge doses intravenously for neonatal seizures.
