Thought I'd run this by my 700+ sisters and brothers,

Woman suspected of bulemia, due to her tendency to throw up excessively
throughout pregnancy and after, including now when baby is six months old.
Says she gets teeth cleaned every three months or they become black. Hates
fat people, her husband is obese. Close friend says woman purges regularly
after big meals, during pregnancy and pp. Father gone from 8 am to 10 pm,
has no idea what is happening, not supportive of extended Bf, wanted baby
weaned by six months.

LBW baby, mother bf her about every five hours, not so concerned about
baby's FTT. Mother constantly dehydrated complained of headaches, didn't
drink enough, claimed she didn't have enough milk. At 5 mos. mother weans
baby because "baby enjoys bf too much". Now mother turns around, says she
misses nursing, wants to relactate.

This is the one I mentioned as making us want to scream. Called, asked for
advice, did opposite. SHould we give her a long song and dance about
relactation and how it's so difficult, or do we try to encourage her? Have
any of you seen women who show these signs. Is this a strong case to
suspect bulemia or not? Can we report this to people who deal with child
neglect if a mother is putting a baby on a diet?
