I was interested in hearing the studies concerning vitamin D. Does
anyone have references concerning darker-skinned babies and less
sunlight? Rickettes can still be found in Alaska. It is not worht
the risk to not supplement with vit D if this is all we need to do
to prevent htis disease. I was able to convince the pediatricians
to switch from poly-vi-flur with iron to tri-vi-sol (vits A,D,E).
What do other countries do with this problem. I have heartache with
telling moms breast is best, and here is a little something to make
it better.
I would like to add conerning the posts about sex and breasts is that
we cannot ignor the fact that they are viewed as part of our sexuality
no matter what our personal opions are. We can't keep having
absolutes in our business. We need to be able to tell moms how their
bodies may work. In those days of young, groaping love, the mammary
glands are often involved so many mothers may have sexual ideas/ practices
involving the breasts, which may present as a stumbing block to successful
breastfeeding.
