Dear Lacneters,
I am currently practicing in a neonatal intensive care setting, so I don't
see a lot of problems that occur later in the bf relationship. One of the
other L.C.'s at the hospital had a baby recently, and is having recurrent
thrush and yeast. This mother has tried all kinds of things, but the infant
keeps getting thrush. Then, in turn, she gives it to mom again. This last
round of nystatin seemed to finally work, but a call today resulted in
finding that the infant once again has thrush after appearing clear for
four days. Obviously, it is not going away, and diflucan also didn't keep
it from coming back. Any ideas. Being a L.C., she feels very defeated right
now.
