Debbie and All, Read page 232 in Breastfeeding & Human Lactation. For A&D it
states , "For external use only. In case of ingestion, contact a poison
control center. There are no vitamins in this ointment." When I took a job at
a Texas hospital 3 years ago, they were still using A&D!!! I had to go before
a commitee and present why it should be changed to Lansin__. Sadly, I know of
at least one other hospital in my area that is still using A&D!!! You are
right about the over 50 age group. They are the ones that keep ordering it!!!
I think about the movie What about Bob, where the phrase Baby Steps, Baby
Steps is used!!!! Change comes about slowly sometimes!! Denise Hewson RN
IBCLC Katy, Tx (Born and raised in NY, 8 yrs in Colorado, 10 in Calif.
Sometimes I feel like I have stepped back in time here!!!!!!)
