Becky Hanson's posting was very scarey. Since the proponents of obstetric
ultrasound have stressed that it is sound waves, I have always assumed
that it operates on vibrations, not radiation. I am no scientist, rocket
or otherwise. I *am* very suspicious of obstetric U/S and waiting for
more research, meanwhile assuming that any damage done is the result of
the "sound waves" disturbing (ie vibrating) cells at the exact time of
replication, thus damaging them. The thought of "6 generations" of cells
being *mutated* is very upsetting, to say the least. Thus, I understood
that U/S treatment for milk stasis would "work" because of the breast
being "vibrated" with sound waves of high frequency, and be safe since
there was no major cell replication taking place.
