I would lilke to hear from any of you who have personal experience with moms
who have relactated after extensive time not lactating, but with the same
baby (not adoptive).

I have a mother of a 4 month old who would like to relactate after feeding
her baby formula exclusively for the past 2 months. She had no probs
breastfeeding the first 2 mos, nearly exclusively, got about 2 bottles a
week, but then went to ABM cold turkey when she returned to work 10 hrs a
day.

She says she did not get engorged when she went cold turkey-- is this good,
i.e no damaging back pressure on the alveoli, or bad, quick turnoff of
hormones, or whatever.

She is an inner city mom, with no friends or relatives who BF, baby is having
no probs on formula, but she is a very positive thinking, independent,
feisty, committed mom with high self-esteem who is willing to pump a lot, use
SNS, etc, knows it may not happen, etc. This is her 4th and last baby (tubes
tied, had ruptured uterus with 3rd baby) and the only one she BF. She has a
tiny bit of milk with pumping, baby will suckle at breast, not sure of her
breasts potential. Other children 13, 7 and 4.

I'm going to be out of town a few days, NOMAIL, so if you've ever worked with
someone like this, please reply to me personally. Thanks, Tina Smillie
