I just wondered if this problem with the mother possibly losing teeth due to
calcium loss might have been involved a loss of calcium *from the jaw bone*
so that the teeth were becoming loose and the gingivitis from pregnancy
hormones compounded it by forming pockets around the teeth.

Perhaps an x-ray of her teeth and jaw revealed less density in her mandible
and maxilla.
