Barbara Wilson-Clay: Hooray for Emily...and her mom! :D
Robin Frees - thrush: Thrush hurts. Maybe the poor suck has been coming
from thrush all along re: early antibiotic therapy. Now mom's symptoms seem
to confirm that. BOTH should be treated re: thrush, not just mom.
Joanne Burke Snyder: I totally agree re: pacifier use and decreased supply.
Also the other day on net I said that sometimes I've seen moms who were
super engorged early-on, then have problems with supply at 6-8 weeks. I'm
not aware of any research. Super-engorgement is usually tied to
inappropriate (ie: LATE) initiation of BF or pumping. Or inappropriate
access to baby (access should not be an issue for the healthy full-term) or
inappropriate scheduling, time limits etc. etc. etc. Anyway subsequent
decrease in supply fits with endocrine/autocrine theory. Actually when I
first heard that theory I went AHA! Research that explains what I've seen
in clinical practice. Has anyone else observed this?

I loved "it is dangerous to be right on a subject on which the established
authorities are wrong." Voltaire. Does this fit or what?

has." Margaret Mead
