Dr. Hale -

The information was given to be by a Naval officer.  He had received the
statement from a superior.  He had been warned about the side effects as were
other officers.  His concern was his wife had been taking Zantac on a regular
basis.  She is of course breastfeeding (an 11 month old).  They had planned
to attend a Naval Ball and would be drinking.  He was told that the Zantac
would increase the alcohol content up to 30%.  He explained his wife would
probably only have one or two drinks and this information presented by the
Navy concerned him. Thank you for clearing up the interaction between Zantac
and alcoholic beverages.
