Dear Lsctnet friends......
I am currently looking for information on positions and salaries for
IBCLC's working in a hospital.
I am currently working in that situation, I am an Rn as well as
IBCLC. I work 20 hours per week as a staff/charge nurse and 6-8
hours per week in the hospital as a Lactation Consultant and run a
rental station too.
I am trying to gather information (for my supervisor) about how
other hospitals handle this type of situation? Are you paid the
same in both positions (I am) and I only have one evaluation for
both, and its focus is the staff nursing part of the job. My
supervisor is considering making the LC position half time salaried
position and then i would work half time as staff nurse for a full
time position. I do quite a bit of LC work at home.
I would like to know the specific salaries that IBCLC's make in the
hospital, or the salary range if you are uncomfortable being
specific, and any info about how you are paid (salaried vs hourly)
and if you have a dual position as I do, how do you work it out at
your hospital.
Please PRIVATE e mail me on this and I will NOT share any info with
out your permission. I appreciate any help that I can get in this
area. The LC position is so new, that it is difficult to gather
info on it. TIA
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cindy :)
