My favorite quote for situations like this is from Mother Teresa, who says:
"We are not called to be successful. Just faithful."
If we are called to this work, we just keep faithfully doing it as best and
as skillfully as possible, while remembering we don't really have that much
power over other individuals to rescue them in the way we sometimes imagine
we can.
Think of the great people of history who have died believing that their
life's work was an utter failure. Their belief that they weren't good
enough or successful enough doesn't make their effort any less meaningful.
Love to you all who try and give so powerfully.
