I am getting in first to wish you all happy "World Breastfeeding
Week" because it starts in Australia in about half an hour from now.

We have lots of activities planned all over Australia. The Nursing
Mothers' Association of Australia will be particularly involved, and
have now moved their "Breastfeeding Awareness Month" to August, so
there is an excuse to celebrate all month! Most hospitals do
something, as do most groups of ALCA, particularly in their local
areas. Nancy Sherwood shared the plans for Perth a few day's ago.

In Tasmania, we have a banner that says "Breastfeeding is Best
Feeding" which is streched across the main street downtown for a
week. It then travels to Launceston in the north of the state for
another week or so. Of course, our main event this month will be the
ALCA National Conference in Hobart. It includes a reception in the
marsupial section of the Museum. We have also supplied the School of
Art "live drawing classes" with 10 breastfeeding mothers over the
past couple of weeks, so we will have a lot of local breastfeeding
art on display and sale at the local conference. Wasn't that an
innovative idea!
