For all those who have the new BF Answer Book, this is redundant, sorry. But
on page 560, the following info:
A/E SMB 110-220 mmHg This group all cycles at 48-60/minute
A/E LACT-E 70-220 mmHg
Med. Classic 80-240 mmHg
(FUll Size Automatic Piston group_
A/E Elite 0-250 mmHg
Lactina Select 80-240 mmHg This group all cycles at 30-60/minute
(Mid-size Automatic piston group-
PNS 80-240 mmHg 48 cycles/min
White River 9050 76-190 mmHg 30 cycles/min
(Automatic Diaphragm group-
Nurture lll/ Double -up to 240 mmHg 25 cycles/min
(Semi-Automatic Diaphragm-
Many small motorized single pumps cycle at only 5 cycles/min, and suction
varies widely among the most popular types. The MiniE is the exception with
an 80-240 suction and a cycle time of 30/minute.
Also, 2 moms now who bought PNS, went back to work and after the baby hit 8,9
months( After many months of working and pumping and good milk yields ) now
find their yields down by half, and baby fussy at breast the first of her 3
in row at home(one of the moms) Is it possible that a difference in cycle
capability (48 vs 48-60) is a factor here? Mom nurses twice daily, one Am one
PM, baby "sleeps through" and nurses the 3 days she's home .Mom is content
with this arrangement and wants to continue it til at least 12 months. Has
been pumping at 11 and 3 at work, which had worked fine up til now. Comments
anyone?
