Hi, all:
Most of our preterms' mother are willing to breastfeed their premie. But
less than 5% of the premies are exclusive breastfed when they leave
hospital. We are
trying to improve the outcome. I will propose a project and ask for a grant
this year. In my project, I will have at first a survey questionare to our
mothers and staffs. Then, there will be education for the staffs. The 3rd
step will be education to the parents including pumping and kangaroo care.
The 4th step will be direct breastfeed. Any ideas or suggestions, including
the contents of questionare and education materials will be very
appreciated. Please e-mail to me privately.
The associated head nruse of our sick newborn unit has an opportunity to go
abord for advanced learning for 5 months since this July. She is very
interested in the breastfeeding and kangaroo care of the premature infants.
Does anyone have any suggestion about which hospital should she go? Please
also e-mail to me privately.
TIA :)
