In the Dec 1996 issue of Parents magazine on page 66 there is the same
type of blurb that Kathleen was referring to in Parenting magazine.
This one has a picture of a mom bottlefeeding.  The title is "Good News
About Formula."  Readers are encouraged to "Lay to rest any nagging
concerns..." basically about formula feeding causing her to develop
diabetes.  Although they admit that more research is necessary, their
quote from an "authority" is that "taking your baby off formula 'in the
hopes of protecting her against the disease appears to be unecessary'"
according to Mark Atkinson, Ph.D., an associate professor of pathology.
