I was listening to a tape of a talk by Dr. Miriam Labbok. She analyzed
research studies of progestin-only pills, and found that when they are
prescribed before 8 weeks postpartum in breastfeeding women, a large
percentage (I think 80%?) of the studies reported problems with milk supply.
Don't quote me verbatim, please, because I couldn't write down the numbers
while I was listening (kept both hands on the steering wheel). I suggest
contacting the Institute for Reproductive Health at Georgetown University for
the complete story.
