Dear All,
My daughters received the umpteenth American Girls Collection catalog. One of
the dolls they sell is Bitty Baby, a cute baby doll available in a
politically correct choice of Caucasion, African-American or Asian-American.
One may purchase a layette set which comes, of course, with 2 bottles - one
for juice and one for milk. I acutally had the audacity to write Pleasant
T. Rowland, the owner of the company, a letter stating how this sends a
subtle message to little girls that bottle-feeding is the norm. They also have
a book about the New Baby at Our House, also in a choice of politcally correct
ethnicities. Wouldn't it be wonderful if there would be an illustration of a
baby being breastfed instead of the usual trash about how the older sibling
could help out with the new baby by bringing bottles?
