Hi
I am new to the Lacnet so here is my "intro". I am a clinical educator in a
level 2 enhanced NICU. I am also in the early stages of planning for the LC
next year. We get a lot of breast feeding issues arounding nursing sleepy
babies, prematurity and other problems related to interupted breastfeeding
due to illness. Our unit has really made an effort to be supported of
breastfeeding. We now have the challenge of re-educating our nurses who do
have a tendency to think of the bottle first. I also teach prenatal classes.
One of the mothers has been diagnosed with polycytic ovaries. She wants to
know whether she can breastfeed after the birth.
TIA
