"The neonatologist is saying the baby will need to bottle feed first
and the lactation consultant is reassuring mom that nipple confusion
is rare in premies". Is that so? Please spare me. Also explain why
a 32 week healthy premature needs to wait another week before oral
feedings are commenced.
The mother has asked you for your opinion. This makes her your
patient, no. You have a right to give information which is more
accurate, and the mother has the right to get breastfeeding right now
and not be told nonsense.
