You (Pat Young) asked: Is it better to e-mail comments
privately, singly to Lactnet or in a bunch?

This depends on what you are sending. Several of your very brief comments
sent to LACTNET were difficult to understand (as a function of the
brevity), and probably should have been sent directly to the individual
whose comments earlier were what you were referring to.

If you reply to questions that you consider of general enough
nature/interest that all might benefit, send to LACTNET for all of us to
learn from.

Generally, sending a bunch of little messages in a bunch tends to be
non-helpful for those who save messages by topic. I recommend against
doing this. One or two others do this routinely, and we often get
COMPLAINTS from other LACTNETters about this.

Hope the above guidelines help.

Def. of LC service: "We are all faced with a series of great opportunities
brilliantly disguised as impossible situations."
