"They are
charged just as they are for every other hospital supply they use.
This
means your hospital would not have to increase its budget if it
stopped
receiving free formula."

But...........???????? The majority of the moms at our hospital that
formula feed are Medicaid--- wonder if Medicaid will reimburse the
hospital for this? Under managed care, the hosp gets one set amount
per hospital stay, this would incl formula, so the hospital would
still end up footing the bill for the formula. Perhaps private
insurance companies would pay for it, and if they didn't the patient
would be responsible for it.... Just my thoughts on this as our
hospital is starting to work toward BFHI.... How have other
hospitals handles this situation???? I would love to know. Anyone
out there know??

Thanks,
