I'll be talking tomorrow night w/ a woman who's been advised to wean her 8
mo old because of her own low bone density.
She first became aware of the condition about 5 years ago. At this point,
she has "the bones of a 70 year old woman," and her bone density has
decreased dramatically over the past year.
She has weaned the baby to 2 nursings per day, very reluctantly.
What questions should I be asking? (What test numbers are pertinent? She
says she's had lots of tests and can offer lots of numbers.) What studies
do you know of that might support/refute the need to wean in her
circumstances? I'm assuming that, at worst, she will be able to retain
those 2 nursings/day. Am I right?
How nice to be able to ask you all ahead of time, instead of after the fact!
