What I have read and heard on latex allergies is that people who experience
an allergic reaction to bananas, avocados, tropical fruits, potates,
chestnuts are at a higher risk for developing a latex allergy.  I have never
heard anyone suggest that people avoid these food as infants.  It is just
listed as a population of individuals who are at greater risk for developing
latex allergies.
