Dear Pam,

This case that you have been discussing is fascinating. I would like to
see if it is possible to get the milk cultured.

In a recurring case that I had dealt with, I discovered that mom was
constantly sleeping on one side with her arm tightly positioned at the
breast. It acted as an underwire bra. We changed sleeping positions and
added pillows (she had a very hard mattress), and then mastitis did not
recur.

Go back to considerations about plugged ducts. Does she have straps or
slings that pose constant pressure on the breast? Please keep us posted on
this case.
