I had a very frustrating day a work (WIC) last week. Seems a teen mom
came in at 8 wks preg. and stated her OB gave her ABM samples at her
appointment. I called to verify this and sure enough at EVERY womans
first OB appt. they give out a "gift pack" of 3 cans of Similac and 2
cans of Isomil (or something like that). The nurse on the phone
justified it saying it is ONLY at the FIRST appt. and we tell them to
save it incase you need to be in the hospital or your breasts get
infected!!!!!!!!!ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! Sorry but I'm so upset. As an
aside she said "Well they deliver at B..... Hospital and they are pro
breastfeeding" As she said this the nurse in the background was yelling
"But I'm against it anyway!!!"
CAN YOU IMAGINE!!!! She made sure I knew that there were at least three
other practices locally that were doing the same.
What to do...What to do....?
I know what I feel like doing ;) (Does yanking their licenses sound
fair?) I guess I was fooling myself to think OB's weren't doing this
anymore, maybe I needed to be slapped like this to become aware again.
Back on the zealot trail!!!!!!!!!
