Kimberly: Please be sure to read the detail of Alan Lucas' work which
resulted in the finding of nearly 10 point IQ score between breastmilk and
artificial milk-fed babies. These were premies who were tube-fed their
mother's milk. This study was cleverly designed to answer questions just
like yours. For years, studies have shown a positive correlation between
breastfeeding and IQ. Criticism of these results included, "well, smarter
moms breastfeed," "BF babies get more one-on-one attention," etc. This
study was the first to separate the nursing from the milk.
