Someone recently recommended tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia)
for thrush and head lice.  It is certainly effective for lots of
purposes, but be warned that it is now emerging as a common
allergen, in Australia at least.  It is apparently related to poison
ivy, but I don't know whether sensitivity to one potentiates the
other.
