Hi Lactnetters, Since we have been discussing the different meanings of
nursing, I thought I'd share my daughters! Since I am also an RN when I went
to work at the hospital NURSERY, my daughter thought that I went to the
hospital to nurse (bf) the babies!!! This is my child who's lovey was my
bra!! She walked around with thumb in mouth and holding my bra. Had to cut it
in half to have one to wash while she had the other. It started when she
would nurse and play with my bra strap. One day she took it out of the
laundry basket and kept it. She was not allowed to take it out in public, so
I had to cut the straps off another bra for her to have while we were out.
she eventually weaned to using just the strap (she called it her bar stap)
and then to silky ribbon. She is now a sophmore in college and would be
mortified to know that I told 1100 of my closest friends this story!! I'm
sure you will keep my secret, and thank you for the fond memories!! When she
wanted to nurse she would ask for side!! (I guess cause I would say lets
