Melissa,
This is anecdotal from my personal experience. I took Brethine from
week 27 to week 35 and I delivered at week 38, My 2nd child. Baby nursed
well shortly after delivery. I could not wake him to feed every two hours
but he woke himself and nursed beautifully at 3hours. My milk came in on day
2 and he always gained weight. I am not sure of a connection with sleepiness
and Brethine. I have seen other mothers who have taken Brethine and have not
noticed a connecton between the drug for pre-term labor and sleepiness at the
breast. I will however add that to my things that I consider when baby
sleepy and not nursing will and will try to see if I notice it more. Hope
this helps.
