Hi - I am folowing the nipple confusion controversy with
great interest. Perhaps the air is different in Israel but
I see nipple confusion. I work in hospital and I have
babies that have nursed well the first day, were given a
bottle during the night for what ever reason, and the next
day we spent alot of time sweating, getting this baby back
on. When I check the suck the baby is most often bunching
his tongue and popping the breast out.....or not opening
wide enough. I have a lot of experience with latching and
with some babies I feel that the bottle has changed their
sucking pattern. I am willing to be convinced because it
is certainly easier to use a bottle when supplementing is
a must......but my experience tells me otherwise (in some
babies). Please keep discussing this - how do others feel?
Toby
