Jon,
I really think that you are doing a wonderful job with this birthmother. I
just have to add my thoughts on the subject. I am a birthmother who lost a
child to adoption 21 years ago. It should be up to the birthmother whether
she breastfeeds the baby or not. I think that she will have a harder time
handing the baby over after breastfeeding. She will have issues to deal
with for the rest of her life concerning this birth. I am on two
birthmother lists and I speak for all of us. Giving up a baby even in open
adoption, is the most difficult thing a woman can do. Be sure that she
knows what she wants. Thanks for listening. If I can help in any other
way, e-mail me privately [log in to unmask]
