Dear Lactnetters:

Is there new evidence that Herpes is contraindicated when breastfeeding?  I
had been using the rule that if there are no lesions near the nipple and that
they were covered, Mom could breastfeed.  A collegue has found a reference
that it is unsafe if mom has repeated or active case.  Please let me know
where I can get this information.
