Help please, our local pediatrician, in league with a family physician, is
treating a 4 mo old totally br fed infant for obesity. The infant looks
like your typical round infant, with lots of lovely rolls of skin. I don't
have the weight chart but will try to get a copy and post it. He is less
than 20 lbs. Certainly in comparison with my boys (all now tall slim teens)
he is normal. The mom has been told to reduce breast feeds to 4 from 5
every 24hrs and to start solids. Child shows no sign of interest. She would
like some references to take back to her doctors. Does anyone know of
anything published on the 'upper end' of the growth chart?
What about the long talked about growth charts would they help? -- and where
could I get one quickly.
Personally I think this is a normal healthy child that will slim down as it
becomes more active BUT I need the research to convince the docs. So any
help would be appreciated. :) Thanks.
