Hi everyone,

In response to the discussions about Nizoral (ketoconazole). The drug is a
synthetic broad-spectrum anti-fungal, available for both oral and topical use.
Both forms of the drug have rather signifcant side effects. The oral form can
cause nausea, abdominal pain, headaches, and of couse, liver damage. In one
study 2 ot of 45 women experienced reversible hepatitis. Side effects of the
cream include severe irritation, stinging, and allergic reactions. The cream
contains sulfites, which may be troubling to some, especially those with asthma.
In "The Woman's Guide to Yeast Infections" I recommend the drug be avoided,
there are many safer treatment options.
