Hello;
To introduce myself, I have been a LLLL for eight years, and am a student
lactation consultant with Breastfeeding Support Consultants home course. It
is one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done, and find it very
rewarding. I have lurked on Lactnet for some weeks, and love to tune in
every day for a good belly laugh, and to gain serious info. We live in So.
Utah with red rocks and sand, summer cherries and peaches, mild winters. My
husband, Russell and I have a ten year old homeschooled daughter, Lydia.

To the neonatalogist with a tired wife and demanding baby: Sounds to me like
you have a very intelligent, high needs baby. Put on your seat belts and
hang on for the ride! These children are the hardest/best thing to ever
happen to you. You will learn to deal with the difficulties (and
breastfeeding is the best teacher), and will be exhilarated with the
astounding moments. These children are special, intense, challenging,
wonderful! It just gets better and better. For information read Dr. Wm
Sears, FUSSY BABY, and Dr. Stanley Tureki, DIFFICULT CHILDREN. As your child
develops, he will become happier with each new skill he masters. Infancy is
the hardest as they seem frustrated to not be able to do much, and they seem
to really enjoy breastfeeding. By four months, it's better, four years even
better. Take lots of pictures and involve your child in everything you do.
Reduce outside responsibilities so mom can get daily naps. Use a sling,
pack, holding, to keep baby in all the activities. They like
attachment-style parenting. Most of what I know about natural mothering, I
learned from a wonderful child who insisted on the best.

Until next time,
Joya Bezette
