Hi friends;
Recently while talking to our local RN, IBCLC, she told me that in the past
few months she has had contact with about a dozen mothers who are not
breastfeeding, but rather pumping and feeding with a bottle. Evidently
Medela's new affordable, portable double pump, has become a local hot
seller, and mothers opt for short fifteen minute pumpings as opposed to
forty minute breastfeeds. We are horrified by this new turn of events here
in Southern Utah. Has anyone else encountered such a phenomena? These
mothers are missing out on one of the most endearing aspects of
breastfeeding, the intimacy of the mother/infant relationship:
BREASTfeeding. Sigh...
