Alice- You state that this woman is just 6 weeks pregnant. Just because she
had gest diabetes before, does not necessarily mean she will have it again.
I had low sugar attacks with 3 pregnancies, although only one was borderline
diabetic. Normally, in an non-pregnant diabetic, nursing helps to stabilize
the sugar, sometimes decreasing the need for insulin. Tell this woman not to
wean unnecessarily and to get a second opinion if doc balks.
