Hello Kathy D., good to have you back. I enjoyed your post on
"normalizing" breast exposure. This is one subject that really makes me mad.
I do not want my daughter growing up in a world where she thinks she has to
have a certain type of breasts to be beautiful,. instead of functional. I do
not want my sons growing up in a world where they do not see breasts in
normal, daily routine, but can pay money to go to a bar and have some shook
in their face. I agree that if everyone is hiding their breasts and
breastfeeding "discreetly", all we will see of breasts is for these purposes.
In the WIC setting where I work, numerous women decide not to breastfeed
because they are embarrassed that they may have to feed in public. There are
also many women that tell me that the thought of a baby suckling on their
breast is disgusting. Now mind you, they do not mind if a man is doing this,
but not their own flesh and blood. What is the problem here?? It is
perfectly O.K. to use breasts to sell everything, but you cannot show a
breast to promote what they were designed for, feeding babies. Something has
to change guys, and if we do not do it, who will??
                                                             Arly, as for the
refrigerator flavor, I know exactly what you are talking about. A couple of
days ago, someone in my family did not replace the cap on the water jug. I
poured myself a big glass this morning and GAAAG, tasted like everything
except water.. Pam
