cynanne stated that to remove ABM from gift packs is in violation of the
policy to allow the hospital to receive free ABM.  If the gift packs just
come with the ABM, why do they have to be given to mothers at all?  Many of
us were brought up with the notion that waste is a terrible thing, so we
think that if something is given to us we MUST use it.  This is just what the
manufacturers are hoping for.  In addition I think that it is morally
questionable to accept free ABM at all.   Hospitals could easily pass on the
cost to mothers - they pass on the cost of everything else, so the economic
argument is not valid.
