Well, I'm getting more proactive as I've written a letter to the Monterey
Bay Aquarium about their children's exhibit on whale milk which only depicts
human babies bottle-feeding. This one really got to me, especially as I
thought about how many people would visit the aquarium and how long it might
be on display. Also, the lost opportunity of reinforcing the lesson that
whales are mammals, just like WE are, and what it means to be a mammal.
Though we live in Oklahoma now, we have been to the Monterey Bay Aquarium
(as we are aquarium nuts) so I hope they will notice that people from across
the country are concerned about this. So much for getting any work done on
the computer today! And I hear that Olympic theme in the background, time for
our daily dose. Can't wait for our trip to Georgia and the Olympics this
weekend.
