Well, Elaine, since you asked......
I used to 'help' a group of young Maori mothers, until I realised
they had their own ways , and I was spitting in the wind.
The authority (eldest nanny present) had successfully treated
her own breast abscess by waiting for it to pop, then filling the cavity
with vaseline. She insists there is no scar. They do have a good tradition
of herbal medicine, until European legislation drove it underground.
