Cindy asked for information on fenugreek. I have used it successfully to
increase my milk supply. I think I found out about it in "The Nursing
Mother's Companion" by Kathleen Huggins, but I've loaned my copy out and
so can't check that reference at the moment. I found the tablets in our
local natural foods grocery store. I took only about 5-7 per day, not 15
(as someone else mentioned in another post). It took a couple of days to
see the effects (maybe because I wasn't taking enough?)
It does make you smell like maple syrup.
Also, ditto what Cindy said re the baby who is vomiting a lot:
>My first born, who is now 7, "vomited" after almost every feeding
>until he learned to walk. After he started walking, the vomiting
>magically disappeared.... I tried sitting
>him upright after feeds, burping well, changed my diet, nothing
>seemed to help... He nursed, "vomited" and kept right on going... It
>was messy (but thank God breastmilk does not stain) but other than
>that he was fine...... If baby is gaining well and the vomiting is
>not projectile..... I wouldnt worry!
I had the same experience with my now-17 month old. For months my husband
and I went around with towels on our shoulders. Then at some point when
the baby reached the mostly-upright stage, it stopped.
